What we do
The kind of work we do

How often should your fire doors be checked?
Pick the building. Your fire risk assessment has the final say.
3 monthsCommunal fire doors, at least every three months.
12 monthsFlat entrance doors, at least every twelve months, on a best-endeavours basis.
Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, Regulation 10.
Your fire risk assessment sets it.
The three- and twelve-month checks only apply to blocks whose top floor is more than 11 metres up. Fire doors still have to be kept in good working order.
In any block with two or more flats, residents must still be given information about fire doors when they move in and at least once a year.
Your fire risk assessment sets it.
In workplaces, and in the common parts of flats and HMOs (including flat entrance doors), the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to keep fire doors maintained. The inside of a single private home isn't covered.
Have a fire risk assessment action list? Email it and we'll price each door on it.

What makes a door a fire door?
It's a whole assembly of door, frame, seals, hinges and closer, tested to hold back fire for a set time: FD30 for 30 minutes, FD60 for 60. It only works if every part is compatible and fitted correctly.
Can a damaged fire door be repaired?
Gaps, seals, closers and hinges can usually be put right. Some damage means the door has to be replaced. Send a photo and ask.
Do you fit ordinary internal doors too?
Yes. We fit and repair ordinary internal doors too, and do carpentry.
Up and down the M1.
Ring us about the job, or send a photo of the door.
